T-Ball Rules

1) All players play. No one is to sit on the sidelines with mom or dad. If they want mom or dad to come and stand next to them, it is ok, as long as mom or dad does get the ball or help the child. Remember, this is a fun league.

2) All games are 3 innings long

3)All games start at 6:30

4)Please tell parents to get there by 6:00/6:05 at the latest, this way here you can have diamond time for a few minutes. Chat with your players, ask them how it‘s going. It helps out a lot.

4)If you are going to be late please contact me.

5) We will start will our pledge of allegiance at 6:30.

6)Books- every coach will receive a score book. Please keep your roster sheet and position sheet in there. These must be returned to me after the season. In the book, what you want to do is mark how far the ball was hit.

7)Please use the made up list for positions and batting orders.

This way here, if the parents says that little Danny didn’t play at a position, you have a letter from me saying they were assigned there. If they were absent, then place the player in the position where he was suppose to be in the following week.

All players will play their assigned position for 2 innings. For the 3rd inning, I suggest that you can put them in the spot that they will be playing the following week. This way here next week they will know where to go.

7)Scores do not count.

8) As for batting, keep it simple. Use the same order that I gave you on the assignment sheet.

Just like in practice, the last batter makes a home run. Now for the next inning, YOUR LAST batter is your First that inning. And your first batter from first inning is your last batter. Each child throughout the year will be making home runs. On the third inning revert back to the first inning.

9)Uniforms/shorts-Please remind your parents not to have their children wear shorts. Bumps and bruises make for a longer season.

Please tell your parents not to wear their jersey for practice, because if they do, and they get dirty, sometimes the laundry doesn’t get done until Tuesday, and we prefer to have a clean jersey for game day.

10)If we start on time, all games should be done by 7:45. I do have to work at 9:30 that night so I will be rushing a bit. Move the children along. They will get bored within the hour if it’s taking to long

11)If you see a problem, please contact me or other coaches. Working together makes it better for all of us.

Batting,-  the ball must be hit off the T. It must leave the circle. If a child throws a bat. Stop the game right there, Explain to the child that it was a good hit, but they must drop the bat not throw it.

After the batter hit’s the ball, he runs down to the orange first base bag.

There is no lead offs. All base runners must stay on the base until the ball is hit from the T again. Tell the base runners to look for the ball on the T. Once it is off the T, they can run.

All runners will proceed to the next base.

The only person who will advance to other bases is the last batter.

Encourage good play between your players and the other team.

Fielding- In the event an out is recorded, congratulate the fielders, but the hitter stays on the base. NO one is out.
